Doctors, after establishing an appropriate diagnosis, can prescribe treatment aimed at alleviating the concern.

Beyond these prescriptions, it is possible to have recourse to supplements such as CBD, Where chemical cannabinoid derived from cannabis, which offers multiple therapeutic properties:

Anti-inflammatories and painkillers;

Anxiolytics and antidepressants;

Anti-vomiting and antiepileptics, among others.

The researchers found that the endocannabinoid system, which includes a network of receptors in the brain and central nervous system, has an impact on the maintenance of several bodily functions, such as appetite, mood, regulation of circadian rhythms and sleep. Cannabinoids attach themselves to these cells and act on anxiety and pain in particular, and therefore indirectly on sleep.

Although further studies are needed, some research supports this theory according to which the CBD can improve sleep.

A study published in the journal Medicines covered 409 people suffering frominsomnia from June 2016 to May 2018 indicated that cannabinoids reduce symptoms of insomnia.

Moreover, in a study published in the Permanente Journal, 72 adults with anxiety and poor quality sleep were analyzed. After the first month, scores ofanxiety decreased in 79% people. The sleep of 66% of the participants improved, which implies a reduction in sleep disturbances.

Many smaller studies also supported the use of thecbd oil to improve sleep.

For example, a study of a 10-year-old girl with a post-traumatic stress disorder and a bad sleep showed that a treatment with CBD had been effective. But the results are not enough and more research still needs to be done.

This disorder is more common in elderly patients suffering from neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.

In a limited study of patients with Parkinson’s disease, the CBD helped manage symptoms of TCSP. Prior to taking CBD, patients experienced symptoms of TCSP 2-7 times per week. After taking CBD, the symptoms appeared from 0 to 1 times per week.
